What impact will/has the electronic media have/had on the magazine industry?

Electronic media has inspired magazines to create websites that feature many or more of the articles that they publish in the actual magazine. I do not believe that the magazine will cease to exist like the newspaper has because of the Internet. Readers enjoy holding and reading the magazines for the pictures and color. Some people also collect magazines. Often times, magazines clippings are used for creating collages and decorating dorm rooms. If one simply prints magazine articles and pictures off the Internet, they do not get the same effect that comes with the color and glossy feel of the magazine. The fact that magazines have been aimed at specialized audiences also adds to their popularity. By having websites with more interactive features can only help the booming magazine industry.
